Preparing the Family Pet to Welcome The Newborn

    girldog.jpg
Is your dog intensely jealous of your affections? Does she always try to come between you and your spouse when you get close? Then naturally her reaction towards the new addition in the family who will certainly grab all the attention may not be pleasant. You need to prepare her for the change to be followed so as to make her interactions with the new baby safe.

Then naturally her reaction towards the new addition in the family who will certainly grab all the attention may not be pleasant. You need to prepare her for the change to be followed so as to make her interactions with the new baby safe. Finding Your Fashion Groove During and After Pregnancy

    Jonathan%20WillmannPreg.jpg
Magazine photos of celebrity moms who do not miss a fashion beat during their pregnancies and after they have their babies should be outlawed. I don't know about the rest of you, but my sweats and a baseball cap were my best friends for several months during all four of my pregnancies and after giving birth. Who has the time or energy to take a shower, let alone shop for clothes that will fit the body upon which this little being has wrecked havoc?

    Get Physical

Exercising during your pregnancy is one of the best things you can do for yourself--and your baby. Regular exercise (walking or swimming for 30 minutes three or more times a week, for example) will help you control your weight, reduce the risk of some illnesses associated with pregnancy, and may also help you sleep better at night. Add some strength-training to keep your muscles toned and strong, and to help with your posture as your center of gravity shifts along with your growing belly.

    Are You Pregnant?

Even before a do-it-yourself urine test can confirm your pregnancy, you may suspect that you're expecting. Within a few days of a missed period, you should be able to get an accurate "yes" or "no" with a urine test. But in the meantime, here's a look at some typical early signs of pregnancy, plus an explanation of what's going on.

    • Frequent urination.
Blame it on pregnancy hormones. Shortly after conception, the embryo starts to secrete the human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) hormone.

The Right to Bear Children: Preserving Fertility in Women With Cancer

Although cancer risk is known to rise with age, the disease can strike people at any stage of life. Cancer patients of all ages tend to be highly focused on getting through cancer therapy, fighting the disease, and surviving cancer-free. But premenopausal women with cancer have an additional set of concerns. Each will be forced to ask herself the following questions: As a woman with cancer, do I feel the same way about having children as I did before I was diagnosed? Do I want to protect my ability to get pregnant at all costs?
