Organic baby food.

We all wish we had the time and talent to make it, but face it, a lot of us don't. Heck, the majority of us are so busy, we wish it would just "appear" at the dinner table. We want the best for our babies, but making our own baby food seems like so much work.

Lori Karis, Owner of Sweet Cheeks Baby Food, loves making organic baby food. Lori's been making organic baby food for over 20 years and is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, so customers can be confident that she knows what she is doing.

Eat Smart

by Anne Ehmer

It should not come as a surprise that what we have for breakfast, lunch or dinner has an effect on how well we think. After all, our brain is very particular about food requirements. If it is possible to boost mind performance through diet, it must definitely be worth a try. So, how would the smart food plan be?

Any eating plan aiming to high mental performance should include the following:

Steady supply of glucose - and this means first, do not skip
breakfast; second, eat at regular intervals, and grab a snack when needed to keep glucose ... Continue reading Eat Smart.

Oodles of Noodles! : Still Me - Allergy Free

by Melisa Priem

"My child wants macaroni and cheese everyday!" Does this sound familiar? And who can blame them? Who doesn't love to nosh on the warm comfort of noodles swimming in a tang of soothing cheese sauce? But as good mothers, we want our children to have balanced nutrition. So we try to offer a variety of foods, only to quickly realize that sometimes the only way to get our children to eat anything at all is to dish up those famous, beloved noodles from the blue box. But what if they could get nutritious variety by simply eating noodles everyday?

When we hear alternat ... Continue reading Oodles of Noodles! : Still Me - Allergy Free.

Strange Fruit

By Daryn Eller

Lately I've been comparing apples and oranges, only to come to a troubling conclusion: boring! This wouldn't be a problem if the USDA's ubiquitous "5 A Day" fruit and vegetable recommendation didn't entail two servings of fruit a day. Thus, I decided that if I was going to make the grade, I'd have to look beyond the usual suspects. Turns out there are more choices than I could possibly carry home.

"A lot of exotic fruits are very rich in antioxidants, compounds that destroy disease-causing free radicals," says Colleen Lammel-Harmon, R.D., a spokesperson for the Illinois Dietetic ... Continue reading Strange Fruit.

Blueberry Cobbler

blueberries.jpg

By Jill Borash

Our family always went berry picking in the summer time. It was always a lot of fun and often made for upset tummies because of too many berries! I remember one time my sister ate so many blueberries from her pail (we used to use gallon ice cream pails to put the berries in) that she got sick. So sick in fact that she could not eat blueberries again (still can't to this day). Which is really too bad because they were her favorites before that blueberry picking outing. And merciless siblings that we are, we all still tease her about it to this day!

1/2 cup sugar
1 ... Continue reading Blueberry Cobbler.
