My friend Caroline recently lamented that all too often, she finds herself wandering the supermarket aisles at day's end in desperate search of something - anything! - to serve for dinner that night. Something quick. And easy. But healthful, too, of course. After all, she isn't willing to compromise on her children's health -- or her own. Fortunately, with more and more supermarkets catering to hurried, no-time-to-cook shoppers, it's easier than ever to find dinner fixings without resorting to overly processed, sodium-laden convenience foods.
An Ex-Ad-Gal-Turned-Mom Spreads Good Chair: Notable Minnesota Moms
By Rey Tabborak
Do you happen to be a parent of a crafty kid who spends all their time dreaming up the next project: cutting, pasting, painting, collaging, pretty much anything that creates a mess? Do you often find yourself buying yet another activity kit, with puzzling instructions, that is, at the end of it all, a big exercise in packaging waste, not to mention dismal outcomes?
I happen to be one such parent of a six-year-old, an ex-advertising executive-turned-mom, who never thought I'd seek my chaotic past in marketing, only to find myself as the marketing engine of a new produc

By Jessica Goldbogen Harlan
Ever since my toddler started eating table food, I've fallen prey to the dilemma with which so many modern moms struggle: whether or not to buy organic. But is organic really better? And can I afford it on my already overstretched grocery budget?
If you've asked yourself these same questions, here are five important insights I've learned a

An Allergy Primer for Beginners: Lost in Suburbia®
by Tracy Beckerman
Spring is a tough time of year for us mothers. With all of our deductive reasoning skills, amateur sleuthing talents, and mommy radar, many moms still can't tell the difference between a kid who has pollen allergies and one who has a cold.
Why does this matter, you might ask?
Well, not to be rude, but the kids with allergies are welcome in my house. The kids with colds? Not so much.
It's not that I have anything against the kids with colds: It's their germs I could do without.
This breakfast recipe is gooey but tasty and can be a lot of fun to make. It was always a challenge for mom to keep us from picking, prodding, and poking at this fun breakfast treat while the bread dough was rising. And even more of a challenge to keep us from burning our hands and mouths on it after this sticky, gooey treat came out of the oven. It gets its name from the fact that the pieces you put into it look like bubbles. It is a good recipe to make for brunch since the dough takes some time to rise. Hint: Think Father's Day!
When it's hot and you're hungry, there are few meals more satisfying than a chilled pasta salad. This contemporary combo of salmon and pasta, with accents of refreshing mint and a lightly lemon vinaigrette, comes together in a breeze.
Salmon Pasta Salad with Mint and Lemon Vinaigrette abounds with color, flavor and nutrition. Fresh farmers market fare - cucumbers, cherry tomatoes and mint - pairs perfectly with your favorite salmon preparation - grilled or broiled, smoked or canned. And it's easy, too. Just whisk up the dressing, toss and serve.
