Summer is the season of swimming, tennis, and being outdoors. But along with summer sports, the season brings sprained ankles, pulled muscles and shin splints. This summer, and all year round, athletes of all levels are turning to massage therapy to combat these mishaps.

Once considered an alternative medicine, massage has staked its claim to the mainstream. Americans make about 114 million visits to massage therapists each year, and spend about $6 billion total. Moreover, the American Massage Therapy Association reports that 2 million more people sought out massage therapy in 2005 than in 2004.

Mompreneurs Work to Balance Family and Careers

It's the universal question all mothers face -- corporate ladder or home with the kids? Is there a way to do both, to really have it all? As women, we take on so many different roles: wife, caregiver, sister, corporate executive, girlfriend ... Too often, we are so busy taking care of others, we forget to take care of ourselves. But more and more women are finding balance by becoming "work-at-home" moms. In fact, a new buzz term has been created for this group: "mompreneurs." As two successful "mompreneurs," we've learned it's easier than you think to put "having it all" at the top of your to-do list.

Take the Ten Minute Challenge

busywoman.jpgWhen you only have a few minutes before going to lunch, attending a meeting, or leaving for an appointment, it often seems useless to start any important or involved task. But those few minutes could be a great start to getting yourself organized or chipping away at a larger project.

When you only have a few minutes before going to lunch, attending a meeting, or leaving for an appointment, it often seems useless to start any important or involved task. But those few minutes could be a great start to getting yourself organized or chipping away at a larger project. On average this "transition time" can add up to about 40 minutes a day. This can be even more for those who commute. Think of how much you could get done with an extra 40 minutes every work day!

Good Credit Management Skills Are More Important Than Ever

creditcardresized.jpg
Consumers have many options when it comes to selecting a credit card that best fits their needs. For instance, some people may use credit cards strictly for big-ticket items, while others may use them for all their everyday purchases; some may carry a balance while others pay it off every month. Even though people use credit in different ways, one fact remains the same: good credit card management is important to everyone.

Romance...on a Shoestring Budget

coupletable.jpgDon't despair if you're on a budget--"away" can be a state of mind. Remember when you first dated? It seemed like all kinds of places could be romantic just because you were together. Looking back now, you might agree that the setting or the cost didn't reflect the world's ideal of a romantic experience, but the memories were made and the romance was obvious.

colrowheelumbrellasmall.jpg

By Carrie Johnson

Color is everywhere, in your clothes, in your jewelry. Color is life. Fashion and color coordination can make or break your carefully planned outfit.

Here's a bit of color theory with a fashionista bent.

Primary colors
These are red, blue and yellow. In theory, you can make any color from these three primaries (except white, which is really an absence of color). In practice, it depends on what red, blue or yellow you start with, but we are not mixing paints here, so just remember that the primary colors are red, blue and yellow. You'll learn why in the next step.
