Are You Hollywood's Next Great Filmmaker?

Lifetime Movie Network announces the winners for their second Every Woman's Film Competition, dedicated to discovering the next Sofia Coppola.

Picked by a panel of Hollywood legends including Penny Marshall, Nina Jacobson and Rosie Perez, the judges awarded Negin Farsad ("Hot Bread Kitchen") from New York City with top honors in the Every Woman's Filmmaker Competition and Melissa Kosar ("The Doll Hospital") from Orange County, California, with second place.

Farsad's three-minute short film is about the nonprofit company of the same name headed by Jessamyn Waldman, a social entrepreneur. Waldman hires immigrant women to bake bread from their native recipes to sell on the competitive market -- giving them a real chance at launching new lives.

The winning short films will air on Lifetime Movie Network. Farsad and Kosar will also receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively, and their films will premiere on Saturday, October 18, at the Hamptons International Film Festival. The winners will also receive a trip to the The Hollywood Reporter Women in Entertainment Breakfast on December 5.

You can go to LMN.tv to watch the winning films as well as help pick the winner for the audience favorite film.

Lifetime Networks is currently searching for the next-great-female filmmaker and MomTalk readers are encourage to enter! Who knows, maybe one of you will be thanking us live from the Kodak Theatre.

According to a press release from Lifetime, "We need more women like you in the Hollywood biz! So if you've got a video camera and a good idea, it's time for you to enter the Every Woman's Film Competition."

Where: Potential contestants can visit Lifetime Sweeps to submit video entries.

When: Lifetime will be accepting entries through July 8

The winner will receive the opportunity to have her short film shown on Lifetime Movie Networks, a cash prize of $5,000 as well as trips to networking events and festivals.
