Grilled Pork Tenderloin With Latin Spices

grilledpork.jpg

A little-known fact: Pork tenderloin is just as lean and low-fat as skinless chicken breast, with slightly less than 3 grams of fat in a 3-ounce cooked serving. It's versatile, too, and can be roasted, grilled, sauteed or stir-fried.

Makes 8 servings (4 ounces cooked per serving)

Ingredients
Latin spices:
2½ tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper

2 pork tenderloins (about 2-2½ pounds total)

When will prices change? Why doesn't my job pay me more? Who is responsible for the current economic slump?

"There are many things that happen in life that are out of our control. Instead of falling into the trap of victim thinking or playing the blame game, why not focus on the action we can take to make a difference?" says John G. Miller, an ... Continue reading Strategies to Beat the Economic Slump.

By Michael Castleman

You're sick. Or something has been bothering you. Or it's time for your annual checkup. You make an appointment to see your doctor.

Years ago, that was it. The doctor asked some questions, examined you, ordered some tests, maybe gave you a prescription and then sent you on your way.

No longer. Today, doctors have a multitude of high-tech diagnostic tests and treatment options to draw on, and patients are bombarded with health information (some reliable, some not) everywhere they turn. Add the fact that both doctors and patients have much less of another cr ... Continue reading Take Charge of Your Health!.

Using Effective Time-Outs

By Jody Pawel

Many parents use the same type of discipline for every problem situation. One tool, however, is rarely effective for all situations. Plus, overusing one particular tool also reduces its usefulness. Timeout is just one tool -- and it really isn't a "discipline" tool; it's an effective anger-management tool. Since the purpose of a timeout is to help someone regain control, it is most appropriate to use when someone has lost self-control or there is extremely disruptive behavior.

Most adults have the mistaken idea that the whole point of sending children to timeout is to make the ... Continue reading Using Effective Time-Outs.
