No Mess Painting: Kids Krafts
By Tracey C. Agranoff
Ages: 9 months--36 months
You Will Need:
Washable Tempera Paint ( color of your choice)
Giant Clear Zip-Loc Bag
Masking or Duct Tape
Step 1 - Open Zip-Loc Bag and squirt in a glob or two of washable tempera paint.
Step 2 - Gently flatten out bag to remove as much air as possible from bag. Close Zip-loc
Step 3 - Use tape to seal the zipper end closed.
Now your child can use their fingers to move the paint around in the bag creating endless designs and eliminating any of the mess.
HINT
Use more or less paint to create different kinds of designs and textures.
Try putting in two different colors of paint to teach color mixing as well as cause and effect. It is really a thrill to see young children's faces when they first mix colors and see that they have created change - very exciting and powerful - enjoy!
COLOR MIXING FOR BEGINNERS
Yellow & Blue = Green
Yellow & Red = Orange
Blue & Red = Purple
Adding white makes colors lighter, think Red & White = Pink. Experiment and discover together. Create your own mixtures and make up names for the colors that you make.
